Hello from Ian & Michele – welcome to WaxyTravels!
It all started in our 40s, when we realised that faraway places weren’t just for backpackers and gap-year students. Why should they have all the fun?
Now in our young-at-heart middle age, we’re making the most of life’s second act. We travel for the music, the culture, the food, and the stories that bring places to life. From world-famous festivals to backstreet bars, we’re just as likely to be front row at a gig as we are tucked into a local wine tasting or exploring ancient ruins with a passionate guide.
We like comfort and character, but we’re not about luxury for luxury’s sake. Give us a well-reviewed guesthouse, a local guide who knows the legends, or a hidden jazz club any day.
